What we doWe are an electrical contractor operating primarily within the southern half of the state of Kansas. Ø Commercial--such as office buildings Ø Light Industrial--such as light assembly Ø Heavy Industrial--such as aircraft, water treatment plants Ø Medical--hospitals, clinics, doctors’ offices Ø Military--issued by the Corps of Engineers, can include any of the above types Design-build projects. These are projects on which complete plans and specifications are not yet developed. Our expertise is used to develop the basic design requirements, a budget figure, with continued communication with the owner, architect and selected electrical engineer. Our input at the beginning of the process generally saves considerable time over the more conventional development of bid documents. Competitive bid projects. Bonding CapacityOur bond program has been provided by Travelers Casualty and Surety Company of America (part of Travelers Insurance Companies) since 1994. Travelers Casualty and Surety Company of America has an A.M. Best rating of "A+" Superior with a Financial Size Category of " XIII" $1.25 billion to $1.5 billion. Travelers Casualty and Surety Company of America has a U.S. Department of Treasury underwriting limit of $112,790,000. "Linder & Associates has bonding capacity for single projects in the $15-$16 million range and aggregate bonding capacity in the $20-22 million range. It should be noted that these ranges are not expressed limits. they are general working limits only and projects that fall outside of these parameters are considered on an individual basis." (from correspondence dated July 7, 2009) History40’s & 50’s Linder & Associates, Inc. began as Brown Electric in the late 1940’s. Brown Electric was a small electrical contractor that worked primarily in Wichita. Brown was incorporated in 1954. 60’s & 70’s In 1962, James L. Linder and Harold Mims purchased the company from Joe Brown and Paul Shelley. The corporation’s name was changed to Linder & Mims. In the 1970's, Harold Mims left the corporation and Hubert Edwards, Delmar Klocke and Bob Shields acquired ownership interest. The corporate name was then changed to Linder & Associates, Inc. The company continued to work primarily in Wichita and was one of the larger electrical contractors in Wichita in the 1960’s and 1970’s. 80’s In the late 1970’s and into the 1980’s the company experienced dramatic growth and the ownership base was expanded to include younger key personnel. 90’s In the 1990’s ownership moved from the “first” generation to the “next” generation ownership. TodayToday the company is a closely held corporation with three primary shareholders who are actively involved in the day-to-day business:
